Intellectual Property and Anti-Redistribution Policy
Effective Date: August 2026
Seller: MarginForge, LLC
MarginForge's goal is straightforward: legitimate purchasers may use a MarginForge Product within the scope of the applicable license. Redistribution to other businesses or to the public is not permitted under the Standard One-Business License.
This Policy supplements the applicable MarginForge Terms of Service & End User License Agreement and Standard One-Business License. If there is a conflict, the applicable Terms or expressly issued license controls.
1. Licensed, Not Sold
MarginForge Products are provided under a limited license.
Purchasing a Product does not transfer ownership of the Product's workbook design, documentation, source files, branding, visual design or other protectable intellectual property.
Except for the limited rights expressly granted under the applicable license, MarginForge, LLC retains its rights in the Product and associated materials.
2. Standard One-Business Rule
A Standard One-Business License covers one legal business entity and its authorized users.
Owners, officers, employees and authorized contractors may use the Product internally on behalf of that licensed entity, subject to the applicable license terms.
A separate legal entity requires its own license unless MarginForge has issued a written multi-business, consultant, franchise, enterprise or other expanded license expressly permitting broader use.
3. Unauthorized Distribution
The following are examples of uses that are not permitted under the Standard One-Business License:
- Emailing, messaging or otherwise sending the source Product to a friend, colleague or another business.
- Posting the Product or a download link in a social-media group, forum, Discord server, membership area, template library, shared drive or file-sharing service.
- Making the Product available through a public or unrestricted cloud-storage link.
- Including the source Product in a paid course, coaching program, consulting deliverable, client resource library or membership product.
- Using one standard purchase as a consultant template across multiple unrelated client businesses.
- Selling, sublicensing, renting, donating, white-labeling or rebranding the Product for redistribution.
- Uploading the Product to a marketplace, website or other service as a free or paid download.
- Selling derivative templates substantially based on MarginForge's protected source materials, documentation, design or protectable expression.
- Publicly distributing screenshots, files or materials in a manner that effectively provides the Product or a substantial substitute for it.
4. Internal Copies and Backups
Reasonable internal working copies and backup copies are permitted for the licensed business.
The licensed business may also provide access to an outside accountant, bookkeeper, consultant or other contractor when that person is using the Product solely to provide services to the licensed business.
That permission does not permit the outside professional to retain the Product for unrelated use or use the same licensed copy for other clients or businesses.
5. License and Ownership Identification
Delivered copies may contain or be associated with an order number, purchaser identifier, license ID, copyright notice or other ownership information.
Removing, hiding or altering an identifier does not create permission to copy, distribute, resell or otherwise use the Product outside the applicable license.
MarginForge may request proof of purchase, purchaser information or a license identifier when providing support, replacement downloads, update access or other purchaser benefits.
6. What May Happen if an Unauthorized Copy Is Found
If MarginForge reasonably believes a Product has been copied or distributed without authorization, MarginForge may, depending on the circumstances and applicable law:
- Preserve evidence of the suspected violation.
- Contact the purchaser or distributor.
- Request removal of the unauthorized copy or download link.
- Suspend or revoke support or update privileges where permitted by the applicable agreement.
- Terminate the applicable license where permitted by the Terms.
- Submit a complaint to a marketplace, hosting provider, social platform, file-sharing service or other intermediary.
- Submit a copyright takedown request where legally appropriate.
- Request a cease-and-desist undertaking.
- Pursue other remedies available under the applicable agreement or law.
MarginForge does not promise to pursue every suspected violation.
A decision not to enforce a right in one instance does not necessarily waive the right to enforce it in another.
7. Good-Faith Reporting
If you believe a MarginForge Product has been posted, sold or distributed without authorization, please send any available information to:
Helpful information may include:
- The URL where the Product appears.
- Screenshots.
- Seller or uploader name.
- Marketplace or platform name.
- Listing title.
- Date observed.
- Any other information that may help identify the unauthorized copy.
Please do not purchase a suspicious copy solely on MarginForge's behalf unless MarginForge specifically asks you to do so.
8. Copyright Takedowns
Where content appears to infringe copyright-protected material owned or controlled by MarginForge, MarginForge may use copyright notice-and-takedown procedures available under applicable law or platform rules.
MarginForge will not knowingly submit a copyright complaint for material it does not own or control or for conduct it reasonably believes is legally authorized.
9. Multi-Business and Expanded Licensing
Consultants, franchises, holding companies, multi-entity organizations, training companies, memberships and other organizations that need to use the Product across more than one legal business entity require a written license that expressly grants that scope.
Expanded licensing may be available separately.
